Woonsocket is located in south central South Dakota, on Highway 34.  We are 24 miles from Huron, 35 miles from Mitchell, 108 miles from Sioux Falls, and 20 miles from Interstate 90.

The Woonsocket City/School Library has the following hours: 

 When school is in session: 
Monday & Friday:  9 am to 5 pm
Tuesday & Thursday 9 am to 1 pm
Wednesday 9 am to 6 pm
When school is not in session:
Monday & Friday 1:30 pm to 5 pm

Wednesday 1:30 pm to 6 pm

 

 

 

The Library offers books, magazines and videos, as well as computer and high-speed internet access.  During the summer, the Library offers a Summer Reading Program for kids ages preschool through high school.

The City of Woonsocket and the Woonsocket School District joined forces to build a combined public and school Library and fitness center which opened in December 2004.  A library dedication and ribbon cutting was held on July 2nd, 2005.  The building contains a 3,200 square foot school/community library and media center, as well as a fitness center.  The fitness center is filled with treadmills, an assortment of bikes, a stair climber, a universal weight machine and various other free weights and machines.  The school is using donations to supply the center with new and used equipment.   
     The Woonsocket School is providing its fitness center free of charge for community use.  Times available for public use are from 6 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday during the school day, and also during open gym times:  Sunday 4 pm to 5:30 pm and Wednesday 7 pm to 8:30 pm.
