The Global Partners Reading book donation program is built with book drives with our community partners and corporate sponsors. Since the first book drive in 1999, more than 2.7 million new and gently used books have been donated to public elementary schools in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties.

Highlights:

• In 2008, five new Book Drive Partners participated: Los Angeles County Fair, National Association of Women Business Owners, Orange County Fair, Orange County Reading Association and the Public Relations Society of America-Los Angeles Chapter. In 2003, 305,000 new and gently used books were donated by Rotary Clubs in Southern California and the public during the Holiday Book Drive, Festival of Books, LA’s Largest Mixer V and other community events.

 

• In 2004, 580,000 new and gently used books were donated by Rotary Clubs in Southern California and the public during the Holiday Book Drive, Festival of Books, LA’s Largest Mixer V and other community events, including the match of new books by Scholastic Inc.

 

• All donated books were sorted and disseminated by the respective Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Ventura county offices of education and the Inland Empire Reading Council in Riverside County.
