Disaster Relief Bottled Water for Lifeguard Stations & Outreach Programs

Bottled water for Disaster Relief Programs provide bottled water at Lifeguard Stations in the event Water Rescues or Related Emergencies.

World famous beaches attract millions of visitors each year. The County's Lifeguard Corps play an important role in keeping these beachgoers safe.
County Lifeguards make about 10,000 ocean rescues each year. Lifeguard responsibilities include water rescue of swimmers and surfers, boater rescue up to three miles offshore, missing persons and related emergencies. County Lifeguards also handle enforcement of beach laws and regulations related to beach and water use. The County's Lifeguard Corps uses a wide range of rescue equipment to handle these duties.

Junior Lifeguard Program

G

The Junior Lifeguard Program was started as a springboard for education in water safety, lifesaving techniques and beach ecology.

Junior Lifeguards get plenty of fresh air and sunshine along with exercise and professional surf training. For those students interested in learning competition skills, a mini team will be created in each session.

Junior Lifeguards will participate in daily team relays involving surfboard paddling, swimming, running and beach flags.

Additionally, professional training in CPR and first aid will be provided.
