The DC feeds 17,500 people per week, of
which about 3,000 of them are single
moms who find the Dream Center there for
them each day with a bag of groceries.
*
The DC has a king-size, motor-home
hospital that goes into the
neighborhoods of L.A. to care for people
in need. A "Doctor-on-wheels," all free,
providing medicine and even minor
surgeries.
*
The DC visits 10,000 homes each week –
the Adopt a Block program provides help
to individual neighborhoods; from
cleaning graffiti off walls to providing
food, medicine or just a word of
encouragement as we reach out to the
communities.
*
We provide room and board, work and
instruction to 600+ people year-round.
DC teams go out each night to help
runaway kids under freeway bridges and
in the street, asking them if they want
a new life. In five minutes they're
signed up and for the next year they
live at the DC.

There are hundreds of testimonies from
the DC, such as one young girl who had
been molested for years until at the age
of 16 she took the few dollars she had
to buy a bus ticket to LA. When she
arrived, a man offered to help her and
took her in. He soon had her on drugs,
only to then put her to work for him on
the streets. If she didn't do it, he
would beat her. The DC street team met
her and she said she wanted a new life.
Our van picked her up and within three
minutes, the man, her would-be pimp,
chased them and even shot at the team as
they rushed her to the DC. For the next
year she lived in the all-girls dorm
where for the first time in her life she
was free to learn of a life she had
never known before - one that you and I
have always known. One where hope can be
restored and dreams can come true.

During the hardships of the Katrina
Flood, many destitute families were
brought to the DC and provided housing
and a place to stay. 200 guests
(individual and families) were housed;
the majority of guests had reunited with
family and friends by Thanksgiving of
that year. Between four donors,
approximately fifteen families were
given one year of rent-free assistance.
Five of those individuals/families
remain in the area.
